New IPSec Client from Teldat

bintec-elmeg IPSec Client provides secure remote access to enterprise data

NUREMBERG. The new bintec-elmeg IPSec Client from Teldat GmbH supports Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP (both 32-and 64-bit versions) and will be available mid-November 2013.
This powerful IPSec client is suitable for professional VPN applications and delivers secure remote access to data on company networks for employees who are on the road or working from home offices.
The bintec-elmeg IPSec Client includes comprehensive security features as does the rest of the bintec router family.
Michael Bindner, since September 2013 business line manager at Teldat, remarked: "We put a strong emphasis on security with our products both with respect to their basic design and the security features we offer. There are no backdoors in our routers. We've written their firmware in-house and given our customers the ability to configure every point of access that can be used to modify device settings. We will continue to perform security scans on our systems on a regular basis."

bintec-elmeg IPSec Client for Windows 8.1

The latest version 2.32 release of the bintec-elmeg IPSec Client from Teldat checks user data transfer rates to ensure the VPN tunnel status is reported correctly even in the event of poor reception on mobile communications networks. The IPSec Client supports both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Users receive information on the status of their connections and configurations from system tray balloon tips. To improve compatibility with third-party applications, the network adapter installed by the bintec-elmeg IPSec Client is visible on Windows 7 and higher.
Support for mobile broadband adapters and UMTS/GPRS authentication has also been enhanced. The new bintec-elmeg IPSec Client remains easy for wireless LAN users to operate. The status of all available wireless LANs, their current signal strengths, and their encryption types are displayed when a connection is active. A wireless LAN wizard makes it quick and easy to set up a profile, automating the process of connecting to new secured wireless networks.

Version 2.32 of the bintec-elmeg IPSec Client will be available at a suggested retail price of €89.90 starting in mid-November. A 30-day trial version will also be available under Downloads on Teldat's website.

Licenses for version 2.3 of the software, which allow use on Windows 8.0, will also cover Windows 8.1 with no license upgrade required.
