New pro-grade VPN router for high-speed internet from bintec elmeg

The bintec RS353x – top performance with VDSL2 / ADSL2+, LTE and .11n WLAN

NUREMBERG. bintec elmeg GmbH is kicking off 2014 by launching its new pro-level VPN routers for high-speed internet access. The powerful RS353j, RS353jw, and RS353jv-4G are ushering in the latest generation of the RS series, delivering outstanding performance while providing airtight security and support for the very latest technologies such as VDSL2.

The new multifunctional RS353 access gateways come equipped with a combined VDSL2 and ADSL2+ modem as well as an ISDN interface. With the ability to establish high-speed VDSL2 and ADSL2+ connections - the bintec RS353jv-4G is also able to connect to the internet via LTE - these new models are ideal access routers for small and mid-sized companies, branch locations, and home offices where high availability and redundancy are required. The integrated .11n wireless module of the RS353jw also provides wireless data connectivity for enterprise applications.

bintec elmeg Product Marketing Manager Michael Bindner remarked, "With our new professional VPN routers, companies can now take full advantage of the blazing speed of VDSL2. These devices are vectoring-ready, which means they support VDSL2 vectoring technology that doubles data transfer rates. What's more, the new RS353 routers ensure bulletproof security for your everyday IT activities."

Flexible and powerful

The combined VDSL2 and ADSL2+ modem used in bintec RS353 routers supports both the Annex B (ADSL over ISDN) standard as well as Annex J ADSL without a splitter. The RS353 series is also compatible with the popular "all IP" service of Deutsche Telekom. The integrated LTE(4G) modem of the bintec RS353jv-4G also supports LTE connectivity with download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and upload speeds as high as 50 Mbps in addition to the UMTS (3G+) and HSPA+ standards.
The bintec RS353jw also comes equipped with a state-of-the-art dual-band wireless module for 2.4 and 5 GHz operation. This module supports all current wireless standards including 802.11 a/b/g/n. MIMO 2x2 technology allows for maximum raw data rates of up to 300 Mbps.

All of the new bintec RS series models provide impressive security features such as the ability to establish a secure VPN link to company networks at speeds of up to 200 Mbps. These units come equipped with five high-performance Gigabit Ethernet ports which can be independently configured for use in a LAN, WAN, or DMZ as well as a license for five hardware-accelerated IPSec tunnels. Both the device's integrated ISDN port and its internal LTE (4G) modem can be used for remote configuration access or as fallback internet access.

Built to last

The sophisticated design of the bintec RS353j, RS353jw, and RS353jv-4G access gateways has resulted in a rugged package that includes fanless operation, a durable metal chassis with an integrated power supply, and 19-inch conversion brackets for easy mounting in 19-inch server racks. These routers can also be seamlessly integrated into enterprise network environments, allowing for gradual upgrading of existing infrastructures to the IPv6 protocol. With their ability to enable easy migration from ADSL2+ to VDSL2 and support for VDSL2 vectoring, these routers are a sound investment for professional routing applications.
